Registration Calendar

There are three registration periods in the fall, spring and summer terms. What you can do in each period varies.

Registration-by-Appointment – By appointment only

  • Eligible students may use self-service registration to add, drop or swap classes and change the basis of grading.
  • Wait listing for closed classes is available from the start of registration (fall and spring semesters only).
  • Registration in repeated courses is not permitted until later.

Nonrestrictive Registration – No appointment is necessary

  • Online, self-service registration continues.
  • Wait listing for closed classes continues (fall and spring only). 
  • Enrolling in repeated courses is permitted beginning with the date specified in the calendars below.

Late Registration/Schedule Adjustment – Starts the first weekday of classes

  • You may continue to add, drop, or swap classes and change the grading basis of a class online.
  • Access to online self-service registration ends at 11:59 pm the third Friday of classes.

Summer Term 2019

Most Summer Classes - 2019

The majority of summer classes are offered through the Tseng College (extended learning). Different rules, deadlines and fees may apply to students enrolling in summer courses through extension. Learn more at http://summer.csun.edu.

STAY RIGHT HERE and use the guidelines in this Summer Term Registration Calendar if you are admitted to one of the special year-round cohort programs listed below.

Special Year-Round Cohort Programs

You are eligible to enroll in summer classes that are part of a special year-round cohort program if you have been formally admitted to the program. The cohort programs offering summer courses are:

  1. Associate Degree in Nursing to BS in Nursing (ADN-BSN Community College Collaboratives)
  2. Athletic Training (B.S.)
  3. Master of Social Work (MSW)
  4. Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.)
  5. Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy (D.P.T.)

Permission numbers are required to enroll in all Summer 2019 special year-round cohort courses at all times.  Please contact your program advisor for assistance.

How to Register

Eligible, matriculated CSUN students should:

  1. First obtain a registration appointment on a "first come, first served" basis.
  2. Then enroll in classes during the Registration-by-Appointment period and thereafter.

Class Search

Look up year-round cohort classes in Class Search. No login is required. Select the following options from the search field drop-down menus:

  • Term: "2195 - Summer Term 2019"
  • Session: "Year-Round Cohort Courses"
  • Subject/Department: Select your cohort program.
  • Click the Quick Search button.

If you're also taking credit classes outside of the year-round cohort programs listed above, select "The Tseng College - Credit" from the Class Search drop-down menu "Session" field.

**Withdrawals are not permitted after the second Friday of a session.

Tuition and Other Fees - Payment Deadlines for Cohort Programs Only
For important information regarding Summer 2019 tuition fees and mandatory campus fees for state-supported, year-round cohort programs only, including the Fee Payment Schedule*, see University Cash Services.**

*If you fail to make your payment in full by the due date, you will be disenrolled from some or all of your classes. Payments made after the deadline will not prevent disenrollment.

**A $25.00 late fee is charged to register starting the first day of a summer session if you have zero units at the time of registration. The late fee will only be charged once during the entire summer term.
