- Q: When will my financial aid disburse?
- A: Financial Aid will be posted to your account 10 days before the start of the semester. Refunds will begin processing in the following weeks. Sign up for eRefund to receive your financial aid securely and directly to your bank account.
- Q: What is my financial aid status?
- A: You will receive an e-mail notice when you are awarded. Check your CSUN e-mail so you do not miss important messages from the Financial Aid Office. Here is a tutorial on how to view your financial aid awards, when you are awarded: https://www.csun.edu/financialaid/tutorials
- Q: I e-mailed the Financial Aid Office and haven’t gotten a response yet, what do I do?
- A: They are serving all CSUN students and have a high volume of e-mail inquiries at this time. Please wait for a response if your question is regarding award amounts, financial aid status, or other financial aid-related questions. - Q: Where is my Cal Grant?
- Q: Where is my Middle Class Scholarship?
- Q: The payment deadline is August 17 but my financial aid isn’t awarded yet/ awards in August. What do I do?
- A: Log into your Portal, click on the Financial Matters Tab > My Financial Obligations > View Account Information. If you have been awarded financial aid, it will appear here as anticipated aid and deduct from the balance. Then your remaining balance is due August 17. If you have submitted the correct financial aid documents on time (by June 30), the financial aid office e-mailed you regarding enrollment protection. If you did not receive the e-mail from the financial aid office, we recommend enrolling in the payment plan while your financial aid is being reviewed. Make sure you have submitted your requested documents on your To-Do List.
- Q: Do you have payment plans?
- A: Yes. Payment plan C is open through August 17, 2020. This divides up the payment into 2 separate payments due August 17 and September 15, with no additional fees for Fall 2020. See the Student Finance link below for the fee sheet information: https://www.csun.edu/sites/default/files/FeePaymentFlyer.pdf . Use Google Chrome for your browser and disable pop-up blockers. Log into your Portal, click on the Financial Matters Tab > My Financial Obligations > Enroll in Payment Plan.
- Q: How do I make a payment in-person to avoid the 2.75% credit card charge?
- A: To avoid the 2.75% processing fee with a credit or debit card online, you can pay online through your student portal with electronic check (eCheck). There is no fee with electronic check. You will carefully type in your bank routing number and bank account information. Checks may also be dropped off in the drop box at the information booth or mailed. We are open to process cash and debit payments: we do not accept credit cards in person. CSUN is adhering to mask and social distancing guidelines. - Q: Can I pay my fees with a debit card online?
- A: Your debit card is tied to a bank account. Use electronic check option to avoid the 2.75% processing fee. If you use your debit card online, you will be charged the 2.75% processing fee. Electronic check is free.
- Q: I am a California resident. Why am I being charged nonresident fees?
- A: If you are a California (in-state) resident, please follow the steps and complete the forms on this webpage: https://www.csun.edu/admissions-records/residency-csu-tuition . We need confirmation from Admissions and Records that you are a CA resident. The charges will adjust in the system once A&R approves of the change.
- Q: How does the waitlist work?
- Q: When is my Spring 2020 / Summer 2020 balance due?
- A: Due to the COVID-19 disruption, we are extending the due date for Spring 2020 /Summer 2020 balances to 10/31/2020. However, please make payments when you can to reduce the amount you will owe later. If you need a diploma, the balance will need to be paid off to receive it. There are no formal payment plans, you can just lower the amount of your payment when you make a payment. Please note, we are not sending students’ account to collections at this time, and there are no late fees.
- Q: I dropped my summer classes, where is my refund?
- A: Contact Tseng College to request your refund. Their email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org . Include your full name and ID number, along with your refund request.
- Q: I don’t see my question here, who can I contact?
- A: Please send an e-mail to email@example.com and include your name and 9-digit CSUN Student ID Number.
