*Students in good standing may enroll in 18 units maximum as soon as registration begins (16 units for graduate students). For exceptions, see Enrollment Limits.

**You can wait list for closed classes—up to 13 wait-listed units — as soon as registration begins. For help, see the guide Wait List for Closed Classes.

*Repeating courses is permitted.  Maximum load: 18 units (16 units for grad students). For details and exceptions, see Enrollment Limits.

***When adding units, check your student financial account in the CSUN Portal for a possible fee increase, including nonresident tuition if applicable, and the payment due date. Units added on or after Feb. 17, the 20th day of instruction, will not increase a student’s financial aid award; see What Affects My Aid – Enrollment Requirements.

**Withdrawals in Weeks 5 to 12 are normally not permitted and rarely approved in Weeks 13 to 17. In both cases, only serious and compelling reasons are considered.

*If you fail to pay in full by the Payment Due Date, or you do not make the required Installment Payment Plan due dates and times, you may be disenrolled from some or all of your classes. Any payments made AFTER the deadline dates will NOT prevent disenrollment. After disenrollment, course availability is not guaranteed. It is the sole responsibility of the student to withdraw from classes. Failure to follow formal withdrawal procedures will result in an obligation to pay fees.

Summer 2025 Highlights

1. You can wait list for classes from the start of Registration-by-Appointment until the end of online registration for each session.
2.  Summer 2025 classes begin Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the day after Memorial Day.
3. Summer Term is now offered on a state-support basis. Visit Summer Term Tuition & Fees.
4. Visiting students may enroll in CSUN summer classes through extension at Tseng College Open University.

STAY RIGHT HERE and use the dates in this state-support Summer Term Registration Calendar if you are:

• A matriculated CSUN student, that is, you are enrolled in a CSUN degree or certificate program.*
• Admitted to one of the special state-supported, year-round cohort programs listed below.
• A CSUN student who has received the SPRINT Grant (Summer PRogress INcluding Tuition). SPRINT students will be notified via CSUN Gmail of their eligibility to enroll and in which classes. Learn more at CSUN SPRINT Grant.
• An applicant for the fall semester and pending an admission decision.*

*Note that first-time freshmen are typically not permitted to enroll in summer courses prior to their term of admission. They must also meet with their freshman academic advisor before enrolling.

Special Year-Round Cohort Programs

You are eligible to enroll in summer classes that are part of a special year-round cohort program if you have been formally admitted to the program. The cohort programs offering summer courses are:

1. Associate Degree in Nursing to BS in Nursing (ADN-BSN Community College Collaboratives)
2. Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT)
3. Master of Social Work (MSW)
4. Doctoral Program in Audiology (AuD)
5. Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership (EdD)
6. Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy (DPT)

Permission numbers may be required to enroll in summer 2025 special year-round cohort courses at all times. Please check with your program advisor.

How to Register

As an eligible, matriculated CSUN student, you should:

1. First obtain your own registration appointment on a first-come, first-served basis.
2. Then enroll in classes during the Registration-by-Appointment period and after.
3. Maximum unit load: 13 units for all summer sessions combined.

Class Search

Look up summer courses in Class Search. No login is required. Select the following options from the search field drop-down menus:

• Term: "2255 - Summer Term 2025"
• Session: "Summer, SPRINT and Cohort Courses" (all three)
• Subject/Department: Choose the subject you want.
• Select the Quick Search button.
