Association of Retired Faculty (ARF) Graduate Project/Thesis Award

The purpose of the award is to recognize and provide financial support to graduate students for excellent scholarship and creative activity. Awards of $2000 each are made to support ongoing projects and theses that are part of a master's program. In the following application directions, a “project” refers to either a Master’s Project or a Master’s Thesis. Award criteria include a project description, two letters of recommendation, and willingness to provide a brief presentation of the project at the ARF's annual awards brunch. Nathan O. Freedman Memorial Award for Outstanding Graduate Student

This annual award is presented to an outstanding graduate student who has completed or will be completing degree requirements by May 24, 2019. The determining factors for the award are based on a record of distinguished scholarship, a minimum GPA of 3.5, two letters of recommendation, and contributions to the field. The award recipient will receive $2500 and will be announced at Honors Convocation. For questions concerning this award or application procedure, please contact Gloria Rocklin

Robert H. Schiffman Memorial Award for Outstanding Research Promise

The purpose of the award is to recognize a graduate student who shows promise in scholarship, research or creative activity. This program is available to students enrolled in a master's degree program only and must be returning to CSUN for the 2019-2020 academic year. The recipient of this award will receive $750.
