Before enrolling, you must complete the Title IX "Not Anymore" online video course. This and all other registration holds will block your class enrollment until you clear them.
Find the best path to graduation with your academic advisor. They’ll counsel you on course selection and Bachelor’s degree requirements.
Depending on your major, you may be required to meet with an advisor before enrolling. So, let’s get started.
- Locate the academic advising center for your major at New Transfer Advising. While you’re there:
- Download and read the “First-Time Transfer Advisement Checklist (PDF)” to prepare for advisement and registration.

CSUN’s degree planning tools are designed to help you select the right courses at the right time, not only saving time and money but also streamlining your path to graduation.
We recommend using the degree planning tools in the following order:
- Degree Road Maps: Outlines two-year plans to complete courses for your major. The recommended order will help you satisfy prerequisite coursework without obstacles.
- Degree Progress Report (DPR): Provides a full picture, or audit, of your progress toward completion of degree requirements. Log in now to check the placement of your transfer coursework toward meeting CSUN degree requirements.
- DPR/Planner: Allows undergraduates to plan courses for future semesters based on the DPR audit of remaining degree requirements. You can export planned courses from DPR to the Registration Planner.
- Registration Planner: Generates all possible class schedules in seconds! Just select desired courses and break times and let the app do the work. You can:
- Validate a schedule for course requisites, maximum unit load and more.
- Experiment with different schedules and save favorites.
- Send a favorite to your enrollment shopping cart, ready to submit when your enrollment appointment arrives.

It’s a best practice to take a few ordered steps before registration begins each semester. Besides clearing any registration holds, you’ll want to:
- Check your CSUN email for a registration notice several weeks before enrollment begins.
- Log in to the CSUN Portal to review your checklist (guide) for any incomplete tasks or holds.
- Look for your enrollment appointment in your portal checklist. This is the earliest date and time you can start enrolling.
