How to Register

Fall 2025

Sat.-only and Fri.-Sat. classes begin Aug. 23.
Weekday classes begin Aug. 25.

The general overview below will help you register for classes each semester. For specific instructions, be sure to review the new student registration page for your student group.

Log in to the CSUN Portal

Your enrollment appointment
Any registration holds to clear before enrolling
The Enroll in Classes link to the SOLAR Student Center

Plan Your Schedule

Meet with an academic advisor.
Use the Degree Planning Tools in your CSUN Portal under the top navigation “Academics" menu.

Check for Holds

Check for registration holds in your CSUN Portal Checklist and clear them.
Complete the Title IX “Not Anymore" training to remove the "T9" hold.

Meet Immunization Standards

Immunization holds may not appear for your first semester but will for your second if requirements aren't met.
Find instructions and updates at Klotz Student Health Center Immunizations.

Find Your Enrollment Appointment

Check your enrollment date and time in your CSUN Portal Checklist.
If no date displays, you may be able to enroll immediately.

Enroll in Classes

Register when your enrollment appointment begins and after.
Enroll with an advisor if required.

Pay Tuition and Fees

Tuition and other fees are due upon registration or no later than the payment deadline.
If you enroll in classes after the payment deadline, you must pay tuition and fees immediately at the time of registration. Learn more at:

Financial aid recipients with enough anticipated aid do not need to pay immediately. Anticipated aid is aid awarded to you and accepted by you that has not yet been paid into your CSUN student account. Helpful tutorial:

Plan Ahead

Create potential schedules with Registration Planner (login required).
Send a favorite schedule to your enrollment shopping cart, ready to submit.
