This workshop provides an overview of building and using quizzes and surveys in your Canvas course. Topics will include creating a quiz, time limits, question types, randomizing questions, grading, feedback, and providing accommodations such as extra time.

Engage your Students with PollEverywhere (Online & In Person)

This workshop will be available online via Zoom and in-person in the Noski Auditorium

This workshop is offered for enrichment and does not include a stipend.

PollEverywhere is a tool that provides a safe platform to engage your students with various polling activities such as word cloud, questions, and Q&A. Students can respond on their computer, iPad or mobile phone and the instructor can link the activities to Canvas grading to give students credit for their participation. This workshop will cover how to get started with PollEverywhere, how activities such as word cloud work, and how to create these activities.

Using Technology to Increase Digital Equity in your Course (Part 4)

This five-part workshop series covers practical suggestions and technical tools that can assist faculty in increasing the digital equity of their courses. The January 18 session will be an introduction that covers the core concepts of what justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) represent in the digital educational space of tomorrow’s classroom. The following sessions (first Thursday of every month) will cover technical practical tips, examples and training that should assist in increasing the digital equity of your courses.

Deliverables: Participation, a survey, and a short write-up on one course change the attendee is planning to make based on what was learnt during this series.

Stipends are available for first-time attendees for some FTC Spring 2022 programs. Faculty who previously attended and were paid a stipend for any of the programs, can attend again for their own enrichment, however, no stipends will be paid. Faculty must be an active employee at the time of completion for funding.

Digital Storytelling - Part 4: Introduction to 360-Video

Recommended Attendees: Instructors who are new to 360 video or would like to improve their skills 

Description: Dip your toe into the waters of 360 video and discover the possibilities that will allow you to teleport your students to almost any museum, landmark, or location in the world. Learn what 360 cameras are available for faculty use and how to deploy your footage into YouTube for final presentation.  

Deliverable: Canvas discussion on how faculty would use this technology to increase student engagement and retention.

The Learning Analytics Bootcamps help you leverage the data you have about your students to make content decisions, perform early interventions, engage the class more meaningfully, and utilize technology to facilitate these processes.
