Application deadlines
FALL semester admission: Oct. 1 to Jan. 31, extended to May 15, 2026, with the following exceptions, which close earlier:
The last day to apply to the three impacted majors listed below remains Jan. 31, 2026:
- Cinema and Television Arts – Film Production option
- Cinema and Television Arts – Television Production option
- Music – All options
All other majors will accept applications through May 15, 2026.
SPRING semester admission: begins July 1 only for athletes, veterans and international freshman applicants.
Final high school transcript deadline
- Fall applicants: July 15
Intent to Enroll
- Fall applicants: May 1. If admitted after May 1, submit intent within two weeks of your admission date.
Application deadlines
We are accepting applications for upper-division transfer applicants.

- Associate Degree in Nursing to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN to BSN, Community College Collaborative program)
- Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN post-licensure program)
All other majors will accept applications through May 15, 2026.
SPRING semester admission: July 1 to Oct. 15, 2026 for Spring 2027 admission.
NOTE: Athletes, veterans and international applicants may have different application deadlines.
Preliminary transcript due date
- Fall applicants: Feb. 15
- Spring applicants: Oct. 1, extended to Oct. 16, 2025 for Spring 2026 admission.
Final transcript due date
- Fall applicants: July 15
- Spring applicants: Jan. 15
Test Scores
Optional AP, CLEP or IB test scores are due as soon as possible but no later than:
- Fall applicants: July 15
- Spring applicants: Jan. 15

- College Level Exam Program (CLEP): Use CSUN college code 4707.
- International Baccalaureate (IB): Request a paper transcript.

Intrasystem Concurrent Enrollment (ICE)
- Fall and spring semesters: You must file the ICE application form before the closing date set by the individual graduate program.

Returning undergraduate students
If you left CSUN in good academic standing or on academic notice, do not submit a new Cal State Apply application. Instead, complete our Welcome Back Form during the following dates:
- Fall semester admission: Oct. 1 to July 15*
- Spring semester admission: Aug. 1 to Sept. 30*, extended to Oct. 15, 2025 for Spring 2026 admission.
- Applicants who are athletes and veterans may have different application deadlines.

Returning undergraduate students who were previously disqualified
You can now request readmission using the Welcome Back Form during these dates:
- Fall semester admission: Oct. 1 to Jan. 31, extended to Feb. 13, 2026 for Fall 2026.*
- Spring semester admission: Aug. 1 to Sept. 30 , extended to Oct. 15, 2025 for Spring 2026.

Returning graduate student application deadlines

If you are a post-baccalaureate student who holds a recognized bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, you may pursue a program leading to a second bachelor’s degree at CSUN in approved majors.
Apply to CSUN during the following application filing periods:
- FALL semester admission: Apply from Oct. 1 to Jan. 31, extended to May 15, 2026. Exception: The Nursing: RN to BSN option (post-licensure) will close Feb. 28, 2026.
- SPRING semester admission: Apply from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, extended to Oct. 15, 2025 for Spring 2026 admission.
