Entrepreneurship

Minor

Turn your idea into the next multimillion-dollar business. Create something that changes the world. Build skills to lead in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Start your journey with a minor in entrepreneurship.

Why Minor in Entrepreneurship?

Creating a new business venture requires more than a good idea. By minoring in entrepreneurship, you will acquire the skills and knowledge you need to turn your plan into a reality.

On the business side, you will learn about business models, market development and project management. You will also develop a more innovative, action-oriented mindset and learn collaboration skills.

This minor is open to both business and non-business students who are interested in the steps needed to start a business or join a startup.

Why Study Entrepreneurship at CSUN?

Change the World

At CSUN, we believe in starting businesses that are not only successful but also make a positive social impact. You'll learn how to grow your own business and be an innovator in large corporations. In both instances, you'll work to create solutions to problems to make your community a healthier, more equitable place.

Competitions

CSUN hosts a series of competitions in which teams pitch new ventures and win cash prizes. In CSUN Fast Pitch, students have three minutes and three slides to pitch their idea to a panel of judges and audience. The Bull Ring New Venture Competition begins with a trade-show style semi-final and a "Shark Tank" event with the finalists.

Entrepreneurship Speaker Series

The Entrepreneurship Speaker Series hosts workshops on launching and growing a new venture. Topics include customer discovery, value proposition, competitive analysis and the lean startup method. You can also receive direct mentoring and practice business pitches.

Because the Entrepreneurship minor is part of the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics, you will have access to more resources, world-class faculty and state-of-the-art facilities. We're one of the largest business schools in the country, with 7,000 students and an alumni network of more than 50,000.
