Boxing Training Program

Boxing

Knock out your fitness goals with the Boxing Training Program! Located in the SRC’s Determination Studio, this program is designed to assist all SRC members who are interested in participating in boxing as an alternative workout. With the supervision and guidance of our in- house Boxing Fitness Assistants (BFA), you can learn various boxing techniques and drills in a safe and controlled environment. Whether you are new to boxing or more advanced, the Boxing Training Program is for everyone. And don’t miss out on the chance to sign up for our Boxer’s Basics class, offered through the USU Rec & Wellness Portal powered by MINDBODY and on the MINDBODY app.

Fitness & Sport Specific Benefits

  • Challenge your balance and control by perfecting the traditional boxing stance and footwork.
  • Increase your upper body endurance and overall cardiovascular endurance while learning the basics associated with striking through the six (6) most common punches used in boxing.
  • Continue to challenge yourself by learning new combinations while still increasing your neuromuscular efficiency.
  • Take your training to the next level by learning defensive techniques like dips, slips and counterpunching. Not only will you continue to increase neuromuscular efficiency, you will begin to challenge your cognitive function and agility.
