AB 524 CSUN Recognized Sorority & Fraternity Transparency Report

On September 13, 2022, the state of California signed into legislation Assembly Bill No. 524: Postsecondary Education: Campus-Recognized Sorority and Fraternity Transparency Act (AB 524; Sections 66310-66312 of California Education Code), which requires each institution of higher education to include a requirement that any recognized sorority or fraternity submit to the institution on or before July 1 annually, specified information concerning the sorority’s or fraternity’s members GPA, events, philanthropy and conduct status. The bill requires each institution with sororities or fraternities to compile and maintain the collected information into a publicly accessible report posted, and archived, on each respective campus’ Greek Life internet homepage or its equivalent for a minimum of 10 years and sent through a campus-wide email to all enrolled students on or before October 1 annually.
2025 to 2026 Academic Year Reporting Deadline
- The deadline to submit the 25 to 26 AB 524 Recognized Fraternity and Sorority Reporting form is Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 11:59pm.
Follow these steps to submit the AB524 Report
- Step 1:
- Read the AB524 FAQs document to find out if your chapter is required to submit the form
- Step 2:
- Review the AB524 Checklist to make sure you have all the required information ready, before starting the submission process
- Step 3:
- Add chapter events that occurred from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026 to the Event Report template.
- Save the file as a Microsoft Excel file.
- Step 4:
- Complete the 2025 to 2026 AB524 Reporting Form
- Submit the form by the deadline: 11:59pm Wednesday July 1, 2026
