COVID-19 Employee Testing

Testing is aligned with Cal/OSHA and Los Angeles County Department of Public Health protocols.

  • The university will ensure employees who are symptomatic or have been determined as a close contact by the university have access to free testing, during compensated time.
  • Additionally, testing is required to leave isolation or quarantine early. Please refer to the Health and Safety section of Matadors Forward.
  • Over-the-counter, FDA-Approved rapid antigen tests are now acceptable forms of testing.

Off-Campus Testing:

Employees may access free test kits through the U.S. Postal Service and various Los Angeles County locations - COVID-19: Testing - Health Services Los Angeles County ( We encourage you to take advantage of the free test kits from the U.S. Postal Service so you have tests available without the need to travel to a testing location.

Additionally, effective Friday, July 1, 2022 we will transition to providing rapid tests as needed.  These kits will be mailed and should arrive in 3-5 business days.  Please complete the CSUN Rapid Test Kit Request form to request a rapid test kit.

If you test positive for COVID-19 or are a close contact, please submit a self-report using the Faculty Staff Reporting Form, which will include a process to request a rapid antigen test if needed.

On-Campus Testing:

On-campus testing is no longer available.

Will I be charged for testing?

No. Testing through this CSUN program is offered at no cost to employees.
