Academic Enrichment Tutoring Services

Dedicated to ensuring your academic journey goes smoothly with assistive tutoring services, the college's Academic Enrichment Tutoring Services currently offer the following programs:

  1. Facilitated Academic Workshops (FAW) that help you master challenging engineering and computer science-related courses,
  2. A Cooperative Learning Participation program, which provides tutoring for over 200 relevant sections within the college,
  3. and the Living Learning Community, which offers in-house tutoring for science and engineering-related courses.

CECS Honor's Co-op

The Honor's Co-Op within the College of Engineering and Computer Science is a unique academic-industry bridge with a legacy dating back to 1986, rooted in a century-old American tradition of Cooperative Education. This program offers students the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in technical roles while pursuing their education at CSUN. It's not your typical placement program; participating companies commit to providing a structured training environment under faculty supervision. Honors Co-Op is an honor program, exclusively available to academically qualified students, and it's a year-long commitment.

First-time Transfer Student Orientation

Since 2007, the New Student Convocation has been an annual celebration of learning, collaboratively planned by Student Affairs and Academic Affairs for the new students entering CSUN each fall. This event serves as a formal welcome extended to the entering class by the President, administration, and the campus community. This program has been one of the primary mainstays of the university’s welcome programs signaling the start of each academic year.

College of Engineering and Computer Science Scholarship Application

Within the College of Engineering and Computer Science is our CECS Scholarship Application, a centralized scholarship application for engineering and computer science students only. Last year, over $300,000 in scholarships were awarded to students who applied completely. This golden opportunity not only grants you valuable financial savings but also offers recognition at our CECS Scholarship Reception. Keep a close eye on your school email for updates regarding the application and adhere to the instructions provided. We hope to see you at next year's Scholarship Reception!

New Freshman Scholarships

Every semester, eligible U100 students have the opportunity to apply for the Marino J. Riccomini Family Scholarships, each worth $1000. CSUN freshmen who meet the specified criteria, including those with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status, are encouraged to apply. The scholarship applications will undergo a thorough review by a committee comprising CSUN faculty and staff. To take advantage of this opportunity, interested students should complete their applications online through the CSUN Financial Aid and Scholarship Department, ensuring submission on or before the specified deadline.
