How to Pay Your Fees
Payment credits after financial aid has been disbursed may be applied to current or future term balances available.
Notice: Effective January 2, 2026, the University Cash Services (UCS) cashier counters will no longer accept card payments for in-person payments. To ensure a smooth experience, please review the updated payment methods listed below. You can also make payments online with no service fee using the Pay by Bank Account option. Additionally, exact change will be required when making cash payments beginning January 2026.
Card Payments:
Before You Pay – Remember
- Have your CSUN ID number ready.
- Have your credit card number and expiration date ready.
Accepted Cards:
American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.Service Fee:
A 2.65% service fee is charged by the credit card processor and applies to the cardholder.Important Notice:
- Card payments are not accepted in person at UCS cashier counters.
- Card payments can only be made through the CSUN Student Portal and are subject to the service fee.
Mobile Pay:
- Mobile Pay options (Apple Pay and Google Pay) are accepted only through the Student Portal.
To use Mobile Pay, select a card payment as the payment method and follow the portal instructions.- A 2.65% service fee will be applied to the cardholder.
- Mobile Pay is not accepted at the UCS cashier counters.
Login to myCSUN on the CSUN website.
Select the My Finances tab and select My Accounts from the drop down menu.
Select Make a Payment.
- Students can pay their fees online through their Student Portal using their checking or savings account with no service fee.
- Select “Bank Account” as your payment method.
- Have banking information ready (account and routing numbers).
How to Find Your Routing & Account Numbers
- Check your bank’s mobile app or online banking platform for this information, or alternatively, call your bank directly.
- Do not enter your debit card number.
Returned Check Information
- If a transaction is returned as invalid due to insufficient funds or erroneous account number(s) you will be charged a $10.00 return check charge and a $10.00 administrative late fee.
- Checks received for registration fees that are returned unpaid by a bank for any reason, may result in the loss of registration privileges.
- Students having 3 or more payments returned on their student account (regardless of terms) will be require to remit payment in person through certified funds. Web payments will be restricted indefinitely.
Login to myCSUN on the CSUN website.

Select the My Finances tab and select My Accounts from the drop down menu.

Select Make a Payment.

- 529 payments must be received by the payment deadline to avoid disenrollment.
Pay by Mail:
- If requesting a mailed 529 check, initiate it at least three weeks before the due date.
- Please make sure to include your CSUN student ID number on the check.
Pay In Person:
- Bring your 529 check to the University Cash Services counter.
- Check in through QLess.
Pay Online Through the Student Portal:
- Many 529 Savings Plans can be used to make online payments through the CSUN Student Portal.
- Not all 529 vendors or plans are supported, so availability may vary.
- The 529 processor charges a $10.00 service fee.
- Your individual 529 vendor may also charge an additional fee.
Pay By Cash:
- Exact change required for all cash payments.
- Tuition and Mandatory Fees - Tuition payments paid in cash are by appointment only on Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Check in through QLess and select University Cash Services as the service. Then choose “Student Payments” and select the “Monday & Wednesday – Cash Payments for Tuition and Campus Fees” queue.

Pay by Check or Money Order:
- Check in through QLess and select University Cash Services as the service. Then choose “Student Payments” and select the option “Student Payments/Questions."

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
- Make checks or money orders payable to: CSUN or California State University, Northridge.
- Check/Money Order must have the current date. Post-dated or stale-dated checks will not be accepted.
- Check /Money Order Amounts Must Match. If the amounts do not match, the check cannot be accepted.
- We do not accept checks/money for amounts greater than the balance owed.
- International checks are not accepted.
- Write your CSUN ID number in the memo line.
- Altered, corrected, or damaged checks/money orders will not be accepted.

How to Pay Using These Options:
University Cash Services offers three different international payment options for
students and their parents. International payments must be received by the University on or before the payment deadline.
Payment Flexibility
CSUN provides multiple international payment methods in your myCSUN Portal. Students and payers are encouraged to compare rates for the best exchange rates and fees. It may take 5 to 7 business days before payment is posted to your account once the necessary steps have been completed with your bank.

How to Pay Using These Options:
- Select the My Finances tab and select My Accounts.
- Select Make a Payment.
- Select the items you wish to pay.
- Select International Payment for your payment method.
- Choose your preferred international payment option.
- Complete the payment by following the instructions provided

Mail Reminders:
- Make your check or money order payable to CSUN or California State University, Northridge.
- DO NOT MAIL CASH
- CSUN does not accept overpayments.
- Checks or Money Orders written for amounts more than the current balance due on a student account will be returned to the sender. This may put the student at risk of disenrollment if the correct amount is not received by the deadline. If you are working with a Housing Debt Relief organization, the organization will determine the funding amount.
- Write your CSUN ID number on the check or money order.
- Mail your payment at least 3 weeks before the due date to avoid late consequences.
- A postmark on the day the payment is due is NOT accepted as a timely payment.
- The University is NOT responsible for delayed or lost mail.
Payer Invitation - Allow parents, guardians and other authorized payers to access the online payment site.
IMPORTANT: It is the sole responsibility of the STUDENT to withdraw from classes. Refunds can only be issued to students who withdraw from classes by the published deadlines. Students are responsible for verifying/confirming their withdrawal from classes by printing a copy of their schedule.
