Learn how you can leverage the power of eLearning to help your students succeed!
All CSUN faculty are invited to apply for this year's eLearning Institute led by the Faculty Technology Center in collaboration with Faculty Development.
Faculty will learn and apply pedagogical strategies using technology tools to effectively reach and engage students (e.g., active learning techniques, data analytics-based interventions, integrating social belonging and culturally relevant teaching).
Given CSUN’s focus on the Graduation Initiative 2025, priority for the summer 2017 eLearning Institutes will be given to faculty who are working on bottleneck courses, especially those with high rates of non-passing grades and high enrollment. Teams of faculty who wish to work together on multiple sections of a bottleneck course are particularly encouraged to apply.
Those participating in the eLearning program will receive three (3) units of reassigned time to be used during the 2017-18 academic year and will be expected to:
- Attend a one-week eLearning Institute during the summer (dates will be listed in the application form)
- Complete a project plan
- Apply pedagogical strategies using technology in either a Fall 2017 or Spring 2018 course
- Measure and share the results in an online report
- Participate in eLearning community meetings during the academic year
Prior to the Institute, awardees will attend a meeting with an instructional designer during the spring semester for project consultation. Also, the redesigned courses will be taught in Canvas and, therefore, faculty need to be familiar and comfortable with using Canvas prior to the start of the Institute (e.g., attending a Canvas workshop, completing online Canvas training, or having taught a course with Canvas).
Applications for the 2017 eLearning program are now closed. Awardees were notified in March 2017.
