Instructional Series Classes

The Instructional Series program is designed to train members on how to properly execute movements on specialized equipment with the guidance of a certified instructor while enhancing overall health and wellness. Each series is offered twice a week on specific days and times for a total of five (5) weeks. Please see below for the next scheduled series and a breakdown of the prices.

SRC members with an active membership may enroll in any series as long as they have met the specific course prerequisites. The enrollment period is open for up for seven (7) days prior to the start of the course. Currently enrollment is only available in person at the front desk area. Space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Pilates Reformer

What is Pilates Reformer?

Reform your body with the Pilates Reformer series! Pilates Reformer is a powerful way of training the body for improvements in stability and movement efficiency. The Reformer is an apparatus with a sliding carriage, adjustable spring tension and straps that allows the body to improve alignment, break habituated movement patterns, and to develop strength and flexibility. The moveable surface of the reformer requires that the mind and body work together to stabilize, coordinate and control movement. 

Pilates Reformer I

Pilates Reformer I course will introduce fundamental exercises performed on the sliding carriage that will gradually build in difficulty and complexity. With the guidance of the certified instructor, participants will learn how to properly setup the Reformer to their desired settings as well as learn how to perform each exercise in a controlled and safe manner. 

No prerequisites.

Pilates Reformer II

The Reformer is an apparatus with a sliding carriage, adjustable spring tension and straps. In addition to the moving carriage, the jumpboard is added for a progressive workout. The Reformer and jumpboard combine to create a low-impact, total-body, cardio, and core-strengthening workout. Experience an aerobic workout on the Reformer! 

Prerequisite: Participants must have attended at least 80% of the Pilates Reformer I series in order to enroll in this course.

Pilates Reformer III

This series combines the use of the Pilates Reformer and Tower System expanding beyond the basic Pilates repertoire and is designed for individuals that can successfully demonstrate proper alignment and core stability. It is a fast pace with a high level of coordination and involves complex choreography.

Pilates Reformer IV Flow

Pilates Reformer IV Flow is a compilation of four different Pilates formats: Chair, Reformer, Jump Board and Tower. Exercises learned in previous Pilates Reformer courses are layered in a manner to allow for more fluid and dynamic transitions to achieve optimal cardiovascular and strength benefits. Additionally, this course will introduce the MVe Chair, another Pilates apparatus designed to restore muscle balance, movement, efficiency, and build endurance in the deep core muscles that support the skeleton and spine.

Prerequisite: Participants must have attended at least 80% of the Pilates Reformer I, II and III in order to enroll in this course. 

TRX® Yoga Series

TRX Yoga

What is TRX® yoga?

Make a huge contribution to your stability, durability and all-around movement with the TRX® Yoga series! The TRX® suspension trainer is a highly portable performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user's body weight to complete hundreds of exercises. The TRX® Yoga series specifically utilizes the suspension trainer to perform various yoga based exercises. You are in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise by simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance. Break down tension while building upper and lower body strength and mobility, with this yoga inspired TRX® workout, including several never-before-seen TRX® moves, for all ability levels.

TRX® Yoga Fusion

TRX Yoga Fusion will introduce fundamental exercises performed on the TRX® suspension trainer and will gradually build in difficulty and complexity. With the guidance of the certified instructor, participants will learn how to properly setup the suspension trainer and how to perform specific yoga-based exercises in a controlled and safe manner. 

No prerequisites.

TRX® Yoga Flow

This series takes the fundamental movements broken down in TRX® Yoga Fusion series and puts them into action. TRX® Yoga Flow consists of fast-paced transitions between yoga poses on TRX® suspension trainers that are driven by the breath. Participants will experience improved cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, and overall mobility. Be prepared to sweat and have fun! Participants must have attended at least 80% of the TRX® Yoga Fusion series in order to enroll in this course.

Ocean Yoga™

What is Ocean Yoga™?

Ocean Yoga™ utilizes a board that rests on adjustable balance pods, allowing it to mimic the instability of water and wave movements. This instability exposes your weaknesses that are often overlooked during traditional yoga classes and forces your mind and body to work together to discover stability while dynamically moving from one pose to the next. This unique experience engages your mind and body, builds lean muscle and intensifies calorie burn.

Ocean Yoga™ I

Ocean Yoga™ I combines traditional yoga poses while balancing on the board resulting in a dynamic, full-body stability training. The board's instability allows you to learn balanced technique while synchronizing your mind and body to work as one efficient unit. You don't need previous yoga experience, just the board and an open mind. Hop on and enjoy the ride to a leaner, more focused you.

No prerequisites. Note: Ocean Yoga™ I only offered in Block II

Ocean Yoga™ II

Take your training to the edge and wash away your weaknesses with wave-inspired workouts that challenge your mind and body. In addition to the board, Ocean Yoga™ II, combines the use of a weighted paddle (5 lbs) to provide an added total-body challenge in various standing poses that will increase strength, balance, coordination, and improve flexibility and mental focus. 

Prerequisite: Participants must have attended at least 80% of the Ocean Yoga™ I in order to enroll in this course.
