Wars and social violence, ecological collapse, escalating inequalities, mass poverty and marginalization, the specter of a global police state, and an out of control corporate economy. Can we survive? This talk will discuss this crisis of humanity from a critical sociological lens and explore possible solutions to our plight. William I. Robinson is professor of sociology, global studies, and Latin American studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara. His latest book is Global Capitalism and the Crisis of Humanity.
