The health care specialists at the Klotz Student Health Center are dedicated to providing the highest quality health care in an inclusive, comfortable and compassionate environment to the diverse California State University, Northridge community. Our staff consists of primary care physicians and nurse practitioners, specialists, nurses and medical assistants. Services are designed to help students stay healthy and provide support for achieving academic goals.

Primary Care Services
Routine primary care visits are available to help maintain health and wellness. Examples of primary care services include annual physicals, cold and flu care, and care for injuries. Visits for primary care services and routine physicals are free. Physicals where documentation is required are $25.
Integrative medicine is designed to relieve stress and enhance physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Please note that the following prices are for currently enrolled students.
As a complement to traditional western medicine, our licensed acupuncturist treats the energy flow of the body through channels called meridians.
One-hour new and follow-up appointments: $29
Chiropractic care focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and their effects on the nervous system and general health.

Table massages are available for stress reduction and other healing purposes.

Sexual Health Exams
Services for sexual and reproductive health include annual exams, pap smears, instruction for breast and testicular self-exams, birth control options, and testing for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
Birth control information sessions
We strongly recommend you attend one of our birth control information sessions before you receive your first prescription for contraception. Individual and group information sessions are available. Partners are encouraged to attend. Sessions last approximately 90 minutes and are available by appointment. You may request a shorter session if you would like to learn about or compare one or two methods.
Students seeking birth control may be interested in learning more about free family planning services available at the health center through the Family PACT Program. If interested, be sure to meet with the health center Family PACT representative before your next appointment so that you can take advantage of these free services, if eligible. Be sure to ask about Family PACT eligibility when you call to schedule your appointment. You can schedule your birth control information session online or by calling (818) 677-3666.

Confidential HIV testing is available at the Klotz Student Health Center. HIV blood tests are available on a daily basis by appointment with a health center clinician. HIV testing appointments can be made online.
PEP and PrEP
The SHC provides services that include a doctor visit and the prescription of post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) or pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), if medically appropriate. Students who wish an appointment or who have questions about PEP or PrEP can call the SHC at 818-677-3666, Option 1, to speak with a nurse or doctor.
