University Chorus

CSUN’s longest-standing vocal ensemble, University Chorus was originally created to serve non-music majors and continues to welcome students from all academic disciplines. The ensemble is open to anyone on campus who enjoys singing—no audition required—and fosters a supportive, inclusive environment for students of all backgrounds and experience levels. Each semester, the University Chorus presents a public concert featuring a broad range of choral repertoire. At least one performance per year includes a masterwork, often performed in collaboration with instrumental ensembles and Northridge Singers. Through the study and performance of diverse musical styles—including spirituals, folk music, vocal jazz, popular music, sacred works, and major choral pieces—students develop or refine essential musicianship skills while contributing to the vibrant musical life of the CSUN campus.
