Nordhoff and Cypress Halls and Art & Design Center Heating Update

December 4, 2018

Hot water and heating service restored to Nordhoff, Cypress Halls and Art Design Center.

**UPDATE - December 4, 2018

Heating hot water has been restored to Nordhoff Hall, Cypress Hall, and the Art and Design Center.  Operations should be back to normal this evening.  We will post a message on the PPM webpage.  Thanks to our PPM staff for pushing hard to complete the work at Nordhoff and Cypress Halls and to Bloise (the contractor on campus for the heating hot water capital project) and FPDC staff for assisting with the creative connection to ADC.  Great team effort.

**UPDATE - December 3, 2018

PPM has identified the leak location and ordered parts that are scheduled to arrive on campus tomorrow, Tuesday, December 4th.  Unfortunately, this means Nordhoff and Cypress Halls continue to have no heat and will continue to be cooler than usual with temperatures in the low to mid 60s.  Students, faculty and staff who will be in these buildings are encouraged to continue to dress warmly and in layers.  The repair is expected to be complete by close of business tomorrow.  We again apologize for the inconvenience as we work as quickly as possible to make repairs.

Please contact PPM Work Control at ext. 2222 regarding any questions.

Please be advised that there is currently no heat being supplied to the Art & Design Center due to a heating hot water line leak. CSUN Physical Plant Management is actively working on identifying the leak location and devising a solution for repairs. The buildings will be open and operational while repairs are being completed, however, they will be cooler than usual. Students, faculty and staff who will be in these buildings are encouraged to dress warmly and in layers. We apologize for the inconvenience.

**UPDATE - December 2, 2018

Please be advised that there continues to be no heat for Nordhoff and Cypress Halls due to a heating hot water line break. CSUN Physical Plant Management has exposed the area of the heating hot water leak and will continue working to repair the leak Monday.

Some activities on Monday may involve intermittent noise and vibration in the immediate area of the work site. The buildings will be open and operational while repairs are being completed, however, they will be cooler than usual with temperatures in the low to mid 60s. While the temperatures are still at an acceptable standard, students, faculty and staff who will be in these buildings are encouraged to dress warmly and in layers. We apologize for the inconvenience.
