Facilities

The Facilities Department includes both Facilities Planning, Design & Construction (FPDC) and Physical Plant Management (PPM), with more than 215 staff. Facilities provides the campus community with a wide range of services to ensure the campus’ physical environment meets the University's learning, research, and public service goals by developing and maintaining campus facilities, grounds, and infrastructure.

Facilities Planning, Design & Construction (FPDC)

FPDC is charged with planning, developing and delivering physical environments that support and enhance the University's academic mission. FPDC staff work closely with students, faculty, campus administration, and the community in all aspects of capital project development. From site selection to design and construction of sustainable campus facilities within tight budget constraints, collaboration plays a critical role in our work as we strive to provide innovative and cost-effective design solutions to the CSUN community.

Physical Plant Management (PPM)

PPM is dedicated to the maintenance of the campus’s physical environment.  As the stewards of the buildings and grounds on our 350-acre campus, PPM is the single point of contact for all service and maintenance requests. Dedicated to providing superior service to our clients (students, faculty, staff, and the neighboring community), PPM staff evaluate and prioritize customer service requests and work to ensure the highest standards for safe, high-quality and cost-effective physical plant management. The PPM department also provides logistical services, such as asset management and shipping/receiving, to the CSUN community.
