Our Grounds, Custodial and Event department is responsible for the maintenance of CSUN’s physical environment. We inspect campus building and grounds for custodial and landscaping needs, evaluate and prioritize customer work requests.

Campus Events
Custodial Services. Facility Services custodians work early morning and evening hours to keep campus buildings safe and clean. We address “Fire Life Safety” issues and trouble calls first, then our work follows a list of four priorities:
- Common areas, including restrooms, entrances, hallways, stairwells
- Laboratories and classrooms
- Open and Public Offices
- Private Faculty and Staff offices.
Landscaping & Grounds. The Landscape and Grounds unit has responsibility for the outside environment at CSUN. Campus grounds are kept orderly and attractive, which enhances the campus and the community. Routine landscape maintenance is performed around campus buildings, debris and trash is removed from the landscape on a daily basis, and flowerbeds and landscape immediately surrounding the buildings are maintained.
Room Access - Unlocking. During the academic year, Facility Services employees unlock instructional space at the beginning of the day. If you find your room locked after this time, someone from your department has deemed it necessary to secure the room. Please contact your department office for access. Facility Services workers cannot unlock offices or other restricted-access areas. To unlock these rooms, you must contact your department for access to these areas.
Pest Control. Please report any pest control problems to the Work Control Center IMMEDIATELY. We provide regular pest control services for all campus grounds.
Campus Events. Utilizing the Chargeback process, PPM's Facility Services provides support for many major and minor events held on campus. If you have a forthcoming event, contact us at (818) 677-2222 for more information on how we can assist you.
