2015 Association of Pacific Coast Geographers Annual Meeting

Welcome!

The Department of Geography at California State University, Northridge is proud to host the 78th Annual APCG Meeting (also known as the best one), to be held at the Hyatt Palm Springs in Palm Springs, October 21-24, 2015.

This year’s meeting will continue the APCG tradition of scholarship, collegiality and friendship.  Tim Krantz, a Salton Sea expert from the University of Redlands will be our Wednesday night keynote speaker. Our fieldtrips that will explore Palm Springs, the Coachella Valley, and the surrounding areas are planned for Thursday. Destinations include the Salton Sea, Joshua Tree National Park, the San Andreas fault, Salvation Mountain and a guided tour of Palm Springs Modernism architecture. Thursday evening’s annual social even will be held outdoors by the Hyatt pool with a great view of the mountains and the evening sky. Formal paper sessions will be held Friday and Saturday. The Saturday night events include the Annual Award Banquet that will be held in Hyatt’s grand lobby, taking full advantage of the hotel’s first-class amenities. There will be many other chances to network and socialize with colleagues, including the President's Reception and Address and student Poster Session on Friday, and the Women’s Network Luncheon on Saturday. We look forward to seeing you in Palm Springs at the 2015 Association of Pacific Coast Geographers Annual Meeting.
