Bee a Matador Honey

‘Bee’ amazed by our award-winning raw, local honey! It takes on fruity and herbaceous profiles depending on the time of year when the bees feed on seasonal blooms within and surrounding CSUN’s Botanic Garden and Orange Grove. Bee a Matador’s wildflower honey is extracted from beehives in the small apiaries maintained by Rachel Mackelprang, associate professor of biology at California State University, Northridge. Professor Mackelprang is conducting research on the bees with the help from CSUN biology students and collaborates harvesting the honey with the Marilyn Magaram Center in Thieriot Laboratory (Sequoia Hall 112).

Matador Marmalade

Handpicked and crafted with Matador pride by CSUN students and Center Staff using oranges from the CSUN Orange Grove

Matador Marmalade (Reduced Sugar)

Add a bright spot of sunshine to your breakfast breads with our reduced sugar orange marmalade fruit spread! It is made from fresh Valencia oranges handpicked from CSUN's orange groves and sweetened with fruit juice to contain almost half the amount of sugar per serving compared to our original Matador Marmalade. Try it as a glaze on roast chicken or simply add a spoonful as a topping on fish. Better yet, stir it into a comforting cup of hot tea or pair it with dark chocolate for a decadent dessert. The options are limitless! More unique and delicious recipes using orange marmalade can be found in the 2nd Edition of the MMC Wellness Cookbook.

Use on chicken, meat, seafood, fruit, and vegetables for that extra Matador kick!
