Get Up to Speed with Online Teaching
Want to level-up your online teaching skills and work at your own pace? This asynchronous program that integrates pedagogy PLUS technology covers best practices, techniques and tools to plan, create content, facilitate and assess learning online. Designed to benefit faculty newer to online teaching who are just getting started, as well as spark ideas for faculty with online teaching experience.
Summer 2021 Bootcamps and Learning Tracks
This summer, the FTC will be conducting Bootcamps covering the technology-based teaching tools available at CSUN. These Bootcamps provide key concepts from basic to advanced skill level. Bootcamp topics include Quizzes, Accessibility, 360-degree Video, and Learning Analytics.
Zero to Online
The Zero to Online series helps faculty learn how to use the core learning technologies available at CSUN to teach in a virtual environment. This nine-session series covers everything from logging in for the first time to grading assignments and quizzes, and all points in-between. These synchronous sessions require daily attendance over the course of two weeks, along with time to work on your skills independently between sessions.
If you are already relatively comfortable with the technology and want to focus on pedagogy, this program is designed for you to build one of your courses in Canvas using the Quality Learning and Teaching framework. Explore best practices as you prep your course and learn from faculty peer facilitators who share examples and provide specific advice on online course design.
Effective Online Teaching Practices
Interested in taking your online teaching to a higher level next year? This year long 25-week course allows you to learn online instructional skills shown to improve student achievement and results with a rare nationally recognized Certificate in Effective College Instruction.
