Wellness Workshops

These workshops educate students on specific topics and provide skills to navigate concerns. Workshops consist of 1 to 10 students and are led by a UCS facilitator. Because of the structured nature, there is less opportunity to get to know and build relationships with other students in the workshop. Some students, who are unsure if they are ready to commit to a group or anxious about talking in front of other CSUN students, appreciate the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills from these Wellness Workshops.

  • 3 Week Workshop
  • Each workshop is approximately 50 minutes
  • Includes student workbook
  • Participation encouraged, but personal disclosure not required
  • Important to attend in order as they build upon the preceding workshop

The workshops were designed to respect students’ individual privacy while still providing ample space to begin building skills through experiential learning opportunities.

If you are interested in attending a workshop, please submit a Wellness Workshop Interest Form, and our Wellness Workshop Coordinator will contact you to help you explore your options. If you are already seeing a therapist at UCS, let them know you are interested in a wellness workshop. You are free to participate in more than one workshop at a time and may repeat them as often as you like!

RIO (Recognition, Insight, & Openness) Wellness Workshop Series

RIO (Recognition, Insight, and Openness) focuses on helping students gain a deeper understanding of their concerns, become aware of moment-to-moment experiences, and take the first steps toward becoming more accepting of their experiences.

After RIO, students may consider scheduling an Initial Evaluation with a UCS therapist to explore other mental health support options offered at UCS.
