Aliso Canyon Gas Leak Information for Employees

Dear Campus Colleague:

We understand that some of you and your families may be impacted by the natural gas leak at the SoCal Gas Aliso Canyon Storage Facility north of Porter Ranch.

Your personal safety and health is of utmost concern to us. As such, we would like to remind you of valuable resources the university has that can assist you in these challenging times. Our Employee Assistance Program through Life Matters not only provides confidential short-term counseling services to you and your dependents 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but also has valuable resources such as legal consultation, financial planning, child/elder care resources and much more. Additionally, we understand that some employees may need to take time off to attend to personal/property matters and possibly to re-locate. Supervisors are encouraged to exercise flexibility in scheduling time off and in allowing make-up time, if possible. Per CSU policy, employees will need to use vacation, personal holiday, or CTO to cover the absence.
