Student Applications
The Sociology Department is offering the Sara & Marshall Magnuson Award for Outstanding Student Accepted to Graduate School or Ph.D. Program of $300. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply for the award. Apply to the Sociology Student Award for an opportunity to enjoy the fruits of your labor! See below for eligibility requirements:
1. Undergraduate or Graduate Students: who have been accepted into graduate school (either a master’s degree program or Ph.D. program), are eligible to apply. Proof of acceptance must be attached with the application packet. Attach one of the following:
- Official admission letter or
- Offer of admission email or
- Enrollment confirmation or
- A student portal screenshot displaying admission status
2. You are currently a sociology major or a graduate student in the M.A. program in Sociology graduating in Spring or Summer 2026
3. You have a minimum overall GPA of 3.3 or higher
