The Bookstein Real Estate Center supports students pursuing careers in real estate through academic programming, industry engagement and hands-on learning opportunities. The Center serves as a hub for real estate education, advancing practical knowledge, professional development, strategic networking and collaboration with industry leaders.

MISSION

The mission of the Bookstein Real Estate Center is to educate and prepare future generations of real estate professionals, advance the profession, and serve as a resource. Students completing the option in real estate will have satisfied most of the educational requirements for the California real estate broker’s, salesperson's, and appraiser’s licenses. The center connects students with the real estate industry through speaker series, student programs, and applied learning experiences across all facets of real estate.

The Bookstein Real Estate Center is housed within the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at California State University, Northridge. The Center fully supports the University’s commitment to providing relevant real estate education and serves to compliment academic instruction by serving as an institutional resource that connects faculty, students, and industry professionals in support of real estate related learning, questions, and engagement.

The Center is named in recognition of Harriet and Harvey Bookstein in honor if their longstanding philanthropic support of CSUN and the Nazarian college of Business and Economics. Their contributions have played a significant role in advancing academic programs, student opportunities, and real estate education at the University.

The Bookstein Real Estate Center offers both theoretical and practical perspectives on real estate and provides an academic foundation for careers in the field. Through collaboration with faculty, industry professionals, and student events, and applied learning experiences that expose students to real-world perspectives in areas such as property management, real estate investing, brokerage, market analysis, appraisal, and real estate law.

The Center is committed to supporting student success by connecting classroom learning with practical industry exposure while still fostering meaningful engagement between the University and the broader real estate community.

Harvey Bookstein                                                                                   Harvey Bookstein is a distinguished alumnus of California State University, Northridge and a senior partner at Armanino LLP. With nearly 40 years of experience in public accounting, he specializes in tax and advisory services within the real estate and business sectors. Through longstanding philanthropic support and mentorship, he has played a vital role in advancing real estate education at the Nazarian College.

The Center supports and encourages student participation in professional networking events. Here, we see students who attended the ICSC Las Vegas and Palm Springs Conferences. These events allowed these students to gain exposure to industry professionals and real-world real estate commercial practices.

Property Management Symposium                    The Bookstein Real Estate Center hosted a Property Management Symposium featuring industry leaders, legal professionals, and real estate executives who shared insights on emerging trends, operational excellence, financial compliance, and career pathways within the property management sector. The event brought together students, alumni, and professionals for an afternoon of learning and networking focused on the evolving landscape of real estate management. Featured discussions included the future of property management in the age of AI, legal updates for 2025, and strategies for long-term operational success.

The CSUN Real Estate Club’s purpose is to advance the studies, job opportunities, exposure, and overall success of all students interested in any field related to Real Estate and its operation. By providing ample networking opportunities, information about the field, prospective job offers, field trips, and connecting undergraduates with other established CSUN alumni, we strive to give members a deeper understanding of the real estate industry and help prepare them for successful careers. No prior real estate experience is required! We welcome all CSUN students interested in residential real estate, commercial real estate, or real estate development.
