USU Launches “Inclusive Language Campaign” at CSUN: If You Change Your Words, You Can Change The World

The University Student Union is inviting everyone at CSUN to think about potentially offensive words we choose to say and consider different ways that we can communicate the same message. The words we say have an impact on others – whether it’s intentional or not. The “Inclusive Language Campaign” is all about understanding the power of the words you choose to say and considering different ways that you can communicate the same message. The new campaign kicks off with “Inclusive Language Awareness Week’” at the USU.

Poetry Slam Team Secures Spot To Compete At Nationals

The CSUN Poetry Slam Team placed first at the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Region 15 Poetry Slam on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The team of five students – Cyrus Sepahbodi, Danyial Motiwala, Madison DiNapoli, Marvin Jordan, and Shanada Davis – defeated California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) and Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) for the title, and will compete in the National College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational (CUPSI) at the University of La Verne, Calif. in April.  Read more
