CTVA Facility Access
CTVA facilities are strictly for use by enrolled students working on assigned course projects. It is prohibited to use CTVA facilities for personal projects.
Hours
Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–9:45 PM
- Editing Lab: MZ295
- Available to students enrolled in CTVA 352, CTVA 356, CTVA 359, and CTVA 370
- 20 Mac workstations with Avid Media Composer, Pro Tools, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Unity
- Schedule is posted near MZ295 entry
- Eligible students may sign up for up to two 4-hour blocks per week
- Sign-up sheets are at each workstation
- TV Option Editing Rooms: MZ282, 284, 286
- Individual editing suites equipped with Avid Media Composer, Pro Tools, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Da Vinci Resolve
- Available to TV Narrative and TV Documentary students enrolled in CTVA 346, CTVA 441, and CTVA 442
- Eligible students may sign up for up to two 4-hour blocks per week
- Sign-up sheets for eligible students are posted on the doors to each room
- For qualified students to gain access, ask your professor to email Thomas Popp with your name, email address, and course.
- Visit the ARC to be issued an edit room access card.
- Show the card in the ARC or CTVA Office (MZ195) to have the room unlocked.
- Film Option Editing Rooms: MZ294, 296, 298

- Available to Film Option students enrolled in CTVA 355 and CTVA 452

- ADR/Foley Stage and Audio Mixing Room: MZ160A–B
- Equipped with Pro Tools Ultimate, 16-fader Avid S4 control surface, 5.1-channel surround sound, and Foley pits
- Available to students enrolled in CTVA 359 and CTVA 452
- Film Mixing Room: MZ265
- Equipped with Pro Tools Ultimate, 16-fader Avid S6 control surface, and Dolby Atmos sound
- Available to students enrolled in CTVA 359 and CTVA 452
- Audio Production/Voice-Over Room: MZ288
- Equipped with Pro Tools Ultimate, 5.1-channel surround sound, and voice-over booth
- Available to students enrolled in CTVA 359 and CTVA 452
- Avid Media Composer: Free Avid Media Composer student licenses are available for currently enrolled students in CTVA 352 and CTVA 356. Please contact your professor for access.
- Adobe Creative Cloud: All CSUN students are eligible for free Adobe Creative Cloud accounts. Please contact CSUN IT for information and support.
- Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve: Blackmagic Design offers free downloads of their software here.
- SoundSnap Sound Effects Library offers free access to CSUN CTVA students. Please email Joseph Schwartz for access.
