Film Production

In the film production program students will learn the complexities of the art and craft of filmmaking, beginning with conceptualization, traditional film production practices inclusive of producing, directing, cinematography and production sound recording, through the post-production workflows of motion picture editing, sound design and mixing. Course projects are prescribed as teaching tools with professional learning objectives applicable for both entertainment and informational purposes. These objectives include grasp of the required deliverables to all exhibition places from the theater, streaming platforms, television, and internet, etc. From the 4-semester program experience, the student will migrate through the program to the crucible of exhibition with a Senior Thesis Project. This journey includes story creation, learning how to collaborate, how to translate words from the printed page to moving images and then how these images and sounds are reimagined into motion pictures that capture view attention.
