At CSUN, we know communities become healthier through integrated care. That is why we started the CSUN CLIMB Initiative.
CLIMB is a model for interprofessional education and interprofessional care, to prepare future clinicians for best practice in local healthcare delivery. Healthcare professionals working together obtain better health and satisfaction for both their patients and themselves; reducing medical error, redundancy, and clinical burnout.

CSUN CLIMB is a model for interprofessional education to prepare students for collaborative healthcare delivery within our community.

Healthcare professionals working together obtain better health and satisfaction for both their patients and themselves; reducing medical error, redundancy, and clinical burnout. Communities become healthier through integrated care.

Partnerships with like-minded community partners promotes best practice in local healthcare delivery.  Students enrolled in one of the identified healthcare programs at CSUN will meet students and faculty from other professional programs, participate in integrated courses and receive training in interprofessional practice during their academic programs. Collaboration with community partners will provide opportunities for real world clinical experiences prior to graduation.

Best Practice

Use of existing research and clinical expertise to provide collaborative and holistic healthcare delivery that is patient centered.

Initiatives

Establish integrated interprofessional collaboration (IPC) for all of our clinical programs in HHD so that students have at least one IPC experience during their didactic education.

Create a network of committed community partners identified as future interprofessional clinical practice sites. These sites will provide:

  • student training opportunities
  • mentorship opportunities for clinicians in IPC best practices.
