Kazi Nazrul Islam Endowment Scholarship
This scholarship honors the legacy of Kazi Nazrul Islam (1899–1976), an artist, poet, and musician celebrated for his message of universal harmony, compassion, and respect for all people. Known as the “Rebel Poet,” Nazrul’s life and work reflected courage, creativity, and a deep belief in the dignity of every individual.
The award recognizes students who 1) are pursuing a minor in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies (MEIS) OR who have taken MEIS related course work, 2) demonstrate academic promise, and 3) embody values consistent with Nazrul’s humanistic spirit through their learning, creativity, or community engagement.
