Description: This course will develop and improve public speaking, argumentation, and critical-thinking skills in various communication and debate settings. Students will deliver speeches and participate in various types of in-class debates, mock trials, and forums on current topics. Students will learn the fundamentals of verbal and nonverbal communication, physical and vocal delivery, as well as identifying logical fallacies. Students will practice researching, structuring, and organizing information effectively for formal debate. Writing, listening, and note-taking skills will also be emphasized and developed.
