2013 New Student Transfer Orientation

9:00 a.m.   Check-In & Campus Resources Tour

Hosted by CSUN New Student Orientation Leaders
Once checked-in, students will be encouraged to go on a campus tour which will begin every 15 minutes till ½ hour to the University Welcome. Tours will focus on various locations that will help integrate new students into the Academic, Cultural, and Social context of the campus.

Panelists will speak briefly on various departments under two general themes; Service Centers & Research, and Involvement Opportunities
  • Panel 1: Service Centers & Research (10am - 10:30am)
    - Career Center, Health Center (SHC), University Counseling Services (UCS) Disability Resources & Educational Services (DRES), Oviatt Library, Department of Police Services (DPS) / Parking & Transportation
  • Panel 2: Involvement and Support Opportunities (10:30am – 11pm)
    - Associated Students (AS), Matador Involvement Center (MIC), University Student Union (USU), Student Recreation Center (SRC), Pride Center, Veterans Resource Center (VRC)

Steps to Academic Success


Academic Advisor –
Presented by a University Academic Advisor, this session will inform students on making purposeful decisions regarding their academic career; review resources towards the process of graduating; and answer possible questions regarding academic advisement, rules, and policies.
