Alejandra Acuña, PhD, LCSW – Co-Executive Director
Dr. Alejandra Acuña is an advocate for nonprofit capacity-building and community well-being. As the Executive Director of Valley Nonprofit Resources (VNR), she brings decades of experience in social work, research, and leadership development to support nonprofits in the San Fernando Valley.
With an MSW from UC Berkeley and a PhD from UCLA, Dr. Acuña has spent her career empowering organizations, leaders, and communities through research-driven strategies, technical assistance, and innovative capacity-building initiatives. She is passionate about workplace wellness, trauma-informed care, and fostering meaningful connections between nonprofits and the communities they serve.
Beyond her leadership at VNR, Dr. Acuña is a licensed clinical social worker, a former professor of social work, and an advocate for lifelong learning.
Lydia Floyd – Co-Executive Director
Throughout Lydia’s 26-year career as an Executive Director of a small nonprofit, Lydia attempted to help those seeking to start a nonprofit or agencies that needed assistance. She feels she has walked a mile in the shoes of nonprofit leaders so she has knowledge to share with those on the same path. Her skill set includes but is not limited to Fund Development, Nonprofit Management, Board Development, Event Planning, and Accounting (she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership). She is the CEO of Simple Data Nonprofit Consulting, and she hosts classes in accounting, nonprofit management basics, board development, and coaches and mentors Executive Directors.
Beyond her consulting and leadership at VNR, Lydia is Founder and retiring CEO of the nonprofit Hands4Hope LA, a free after-school program.
Psalm Sto. Domingo – VNR Assistant
Psalm Sto Domingo graduated from California State University, Northridge with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. He brings strong skills in organization, communication, and technology, with experience using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Qualtrics, and Eventbrite. Psalm applies his abilities in his current roles with Valley Nonprofit Resources and the Community Foundation of the Valleys, where he supports communications, event coordination, and nonprofit capacity-building efforts. He is eager to continue contributing his skills to strengthen the nonprofit sector while gaining valuable professional experience.
