The Fall 2027 application is now available to prospective students. Application review will begin in October 2026. The deadline to submit applications for the Fall 2027 semester is December 1st, 2026. All applicants will receive an admissions decision no later than May 15 for each admissions cycle.
ATTENTION! Applicants will have 1 week to respond to admissions offers. Failure to respond by the date indicated on your acceptance letter will result in you losing your spot in the program. No exceptions.
PLEASE NOTE: SWITCHING PROGRAMS IS NOT PERMITTED. YOU WILL REMAIN IN THE PROGRAM TO WHICH YOU ARE ADMITTED TO.

MSW Information Sessions for Fall 2027 Applications
Information Sessions introduce prospective Master of Social Work (MSW) students to the program, and cover all aspects of the admissions process at CSUN including university requirements, admission criteria, application requirements, and everything else you need to know. Sessions last approximately one hour and a half and consist of a PowerPoint presentation, followed by a question and answer session.
Please Note: Requests for accommodation services (e.g., sign language interpreters or transcribers) must be made at least five (5) business days in advance.

Pre-Admissions Disclosure Regarding Licensure
Admission into programs leading to licensure and credentialing does not guarantee that students will obtain a license or credential. Licensure and credentialing requirements are set by agencies that are not controlled by or affiliated with the CSU and requirements can change at any time. For example, licensure or credentialing requirements can include evidence of the right to work in the United States (e.g., social security number or taxpayer identification Page | 19 number) or successfully passing a criminal background check. Students are responsible for determining whether they can meet licensure or credentialing requirements. The CSU will not refund tuition, fees, or any associated costs, to students who determine subsequent to admission that they cannot meet licensure or credentialing requirements.
