Dr. Stacy Missari
Coordinator
Dr. Missari is one of the coordinators of the Human Sexuality Minor. She teaches courses in the areas of the sociology of sex, gender, and sexualities from an intersectional perspective. Dr. Missari’s research focuses on the social and structural impacts on gender and sexuality, with a focus on how people of diverse genders develop sexual subjectivity. Her past research merged quantitative methodology with feminist theory to examine the determinants and long-term effects of positive attitudes toward sexual pleasure in adolescence. She has also studied the ways in which gender and sexuality intersect among gender expansive people.
