Africana Studies

Program Learning Objectives

Our goal is to provide a high-quality educational environment by equipping students with the skills to meet the following learning outcomes:

  • Develop an understanding of the political-social and historical-cultural perspective of the African American and African Diasporic experience, including key concepts and fundamental literature. 
  • Develop knowledge of broad cultural, political, and historical contexts of the African American experience. 
  • Develop appropriate skills in interdisciplinary research design and methodology to examine various relevant branches of Africana Studies.
