National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

NearPeer

Meeting new people doesn’t have to be hard. Nearpeer helps you find other admitted CSUN students who share your interests, background or career goals.

Join CSUN's Nearpeer Community

What is Nearpeer?

Nearpeer is an online community for newly admitted CSUN students. It's designed to help you meet other incoming CSUN students, make friends and get to know your community — all before the first day of school!

  • You can search for people from your hometown or join different groups by selecting Find Peers in the app.
  • Find other students near you to plan carpooling, study groups, meetups or find the perfect match for a roommate.
  • Connect one-to-one to make new friends and chat directly on Nearpeer — or eventually move the conversation to social media, text, Facetime or IRL.
  • You can also reach out to select CSUN staff and ask questions.

Not sure if you'll accept your offer of admission to attend CSUN? You can still sign up for Nearpeer and connect with others — it might help you make your decision!

How Does it Work?

Once you’ve been admitted to CSUN, you’ll get an email invitation to sign up. Invitations are sent about 3 to 5 days after you've been admitted — be sure to check your CSUN email account.

  1. Follow the instructions in the email to create your Nearpeer account.
  2. Verify your account and complete your profile using the link sent to your CSUN email.
  3. Download the free Nearpeer app from the App Store or Google Play and log in.

Now you're ready to start connecting with fellow newly admitted Matadors!

CSUN offers a number of tools to help new students connect with the CSUN community, so keep an eye on your CSUN inbox. For Nearpeer technical support, contact CSUN@nearpeer.net.
