Greetings and Congratulations Matador!
We hope this email finds you well and excited about the upcoming Commencement & Honors Convocation ceremonies that are just a few weeks away. This message is to cordially invite you to CSUN’s Annual Honors Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, May 10, 2025 - 6:00 PM, at the University Library Lawn. You have been nominated to partake in this event, and hope you can join us to celebrate your accomplishments. Here are just a few things you should know about the upcoming ceremony:
NOTE: This event is different than a Commencement ceremony. Graduates will receive their medallions in their seats. If at any chance you are unable to make it, please stop by our department office or the CSUN Campus Store to pick up your medallion at a later date.

WHY WERE YOU INVITED?
Students become eligible for participation at Honors Convocation based on meeting at least one of the following criteria:
- Scholastic Achievement: Students who meet a certain cumulative GPA requirement (3.5/Undergrads; 3.885/Grads)
- Personal Achievement: Students who meet a 3.0 cumulative GPA and receive a personal nomination from a university faculty, staff, or administrator.

Honors Convocation Event Information-sent 5/5/25
Hello Graduates,
We cannot wait to celebrate with you and your guests at the Annual Honors Convocation ceremony. As the day gets closer, you are probably wondering how things will run, where you will meet, where to park, etc. Please ensure that you read this email in its entirety to ensure that you do not miss any important details.
Arrival Time (Graduates & Guest):
Graduates and guests are expected to arrive at least 60 minutes prior to the ceremony to account for traffic, checking in, bag check, and seating.
Graduate Entrances:
All graduates will enter the venue through the South Lawn entrance located near the Campus Store.
To ensure a smooth check-in, please have your GradPass ready—either downloaded to your Apple or Google Wallet or printed out.
If you are experiencing issues accessing your GradPass, you may need to disable pop-up blockers on your phone. Please refer to the step-by-step guide attached to this email for help removing pop-up blockers on both Apple and Android devices.
Once inside the venue, all graduates will proceed to the center floor chairs to be seated (please view our Commencement Site Map to locate our graduate seating location). Ushers will be available on site to help direct you to these locations.
NOTE: Graduate seating is restricted to those participating in the ceremony.
Attire:
For Honors Convocation, graduates are not required to wear their cap and gown. Graduates are welcomed to attend in business casual attire and are encouraged wear their commemorative sashes and cords.
Parking:
CSUN Graduation Parking fees will be waived for all Commencement ceremonies, for additional information on directions and parking please visit the following link.
Guest Entrances & Tickets:
There will be four entrance gates operational for guests (West, East, Southwest, Southeast). Guest are expected to have their printed tickets out and ready for scanning upon arrival. Guests will be asked to pass through metal detectors and have their tickets scanned before entering the venue.
Please make sure you resend/print your tickets to ensure that all tickets have remained in the account and the QR codes are the most update ones.
In order to help your guests with accessing the venue, passing through security check in and locating the different entrances please view the venue entrances, nonprohibited items and commencement site map for more information.
All of these can also be located on the homepage of our commencement website.
Accessibility:
The commencement venue is fully accessible and meets all ADA standards including all processional routes along the ceremony site. Although the campus is completely accessible there is some distance between all parking lots/structures to the actual venue. Unfortunately, trams and other transport vehicles will not be available. Please review parking information to best assess the most comfortable parking location for your family and guests.
Live Streaming of the Ceremony:
The commencement ceremonies will be available on YouTube and Facebook Live for any guest who cannot attend in person. Click here to view the live stream.
