Bio
Andy Garcia is a GIS Technician at the Center for Geospatial Science and Technology on the CSUN campus. With a Bachelor’s in Geology and a Master’s in GIS, he enjoys working on spatial problems and finding solutions to them. At CGST, Andy has worked on multiple projects but with a larger focus on hydrography related projects including helping develop CGST’s Elevation Derived Hydrography project. This involves finding technical solutions to problems that come up, conducting research on new methods, and working with CGST’s interns and research assistants to help them get trained on active projects and manage assignments they need to complete. Outside of CGST, he is always ready to talk about the Lakers, your favorite video games, or some new indie artist that he’s never heard of and might want to check out. Especially if they’re going to be touring in LA anytime soon and have a vinyl record he can add to his collection.
