About
California State University, Northridge (CSUN) aspires to behave as an inclusive, cooperative community and is dedicated to putting student success at the center. We strive to ensure all students have the support they need to meet their academic, personal, and professional goals. a11y+ is a student enterprise consisting of students and faculty from computer science, visual design, engineering, liberal arts, and other areas for advancing digital accessibility. a11y+ provides learning and training to students and prepares them for technology and design careers. Incorporating learn-by-doing models, students and faculty will work together to not only research the further improvement of accessibility but also to provide services to both on-campus and off-campus organizations in order to ensure a seamless experience for everyone in our community.
Training & Services
At a11y+, students learn products may create technical barriers to people with disabilities. Instructional material and experiential learning activities were developed with our partners to empower students with the skills they need to build technical solutions for people with disabilities through enhanced curriculum and engaged learning experience.
Research
Our research seeks to improve the accessibility of interactive technologies. Accessibility does not only benefit people with disability but also empowers everyone. Recent advances in AI have enabled new forms of human-computer interaction characterized by greater adaptability and better human-machine symbiosis.
