Northridge– The Games Room of the University Student Union (USU) invites all Matadors to go head-to-head online with other gamers during MataGames this spring semester – rated M for Matadors! Starting Monday, Feb. 8 to Friday, April 23, all CSUN gamers can join us on the Discord for a variety of fun competitions including Trivia Nights, Among Us, Super Smash Bros, Tekken 7, Brawlhalla and ongoing completion bounties!
“This is a great opportunity for our Matador gamers to get a chance to play with their friends, meet new people and win great prizes all throughout the semester,” said Sean Haggerty, Student Games Room Supervisor. “The Games Room is here to offer our students, faculty and staff a way to take a break from school with our latest video game competitions!”
You can play to win with this exciting spring MataGames season with eight different tournaments. All participants in each tournament will have the chance to win gift card prizes and each event will also award seasonal points for players that place in the top 3. The player with the most combined seasonal points will win the grand prize!
Each tournament will take place on different days at 6pm as follows: Trivia Nights on Tuesdays, Feb. 16, March 2, April 6 and April 20; Among Us on Tuesdays, Feb. 9, Feb. 23, March 30 and April 13; Super Smash Bros on Thursdays, Feb. 11, March 4, April 1, April 22; Tekken 7 on Thursdays, Feb. 25 and April 15; and Brawlhalla Tournaments will take place on Thursdays Feb. 18 and April 8. In addition, the Gaming Bracket Challenge on Mondays, Feb. 8, March 8, and April 5 will be due by 11:59 p.m. and completion bounties will be ongoing from Monday, Feb. 8 to Friday, April 23.
