Five New Student Leaders Elected to CSUN’s University Student Union Board of Directors

April 22, 2022

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northridge – The University Student Union (USU) welcomes newly elected Board of Directors (BOD) members Gisselle Olmedo Torres, Christopher Aldana, Daniel Moreno, Abhishek Tiwari and Adrian Hernandez as they join the USU in creating student connections and community on campus.

“Our vast programs and services we provide could not be successful without the advocacy and input from the BOD student leaders who reflect the public’s interest,” said Emery Hernandez, USU BOD administrative support coordinator. “The USU looks forward to collaborating with these student leaders as they continue to advocate and provide a voice for Matadors.”

The Board has a track record of bringing popular student destinations to CSUN. Since 2012, it has been the driving force behind the Student Recreation Center, Veterans Resource Center, Pride Center, Oasis Wellness Center and a student referendum to build the planned “New Heart of Campus” by 2025. These student representatives will continue to strengthen the CSUN community by improving the student union’s offerings.

Each of the elected directors will serve as student representative until June 2024. Complete election results and additional information about the directors may be found on the USU website at www.csun.edu/usu/boardofdirectors/elections.
