Matador Mission Scholarships
The Matador Mission Scholarships are financial aid funds designed to help students overcome critical financial barriers and finish their college degrees. There are three tiers:
- First-Time Freshmen Scholarship: provides $4,000 per year to help new students start strong.
- Continuing Student Scholarship: awards $3,000 per year to fill financial gaps for returning students and reduce outside work hours.
- "Last Mile" Scholarship: Offers a onetime award averaging $1,700 for near-graduates facing sudden financial hurdles.
I Want to Invest in Student Success
University Scholarship Fund
Part of CSUN’s vibrant learning culture is its diverse student body, ensuring varied perspectives in classroom discussion. About two-thirds of CSUN’s undergraduate students are first-generation college students and more than half are Pell Grant recipients, which means they come from families whose annual income is at or near the federal poverty line of $20,000 for a family of four.
Even those who qualify for need-based financial aid may not have their needs met due to changes in eligibility. CSUN relies on scholarships to remain affordable and accessible for every qualified student. Scholarships may be awarded based on academic, artistic or athletic merit and can help close the gap between the aid students need and what they receive.
Scholarships are also an important recruitment tool, giving students from any background the opportunity to pursue higher education. The financial relief of a scholarship also allows students to fully focus on their studies and engage and participate in the variety of programming and activities offered to students that enrich their education. Your gift today enables a student’s future.

Matador Success and Inclusion Center (MSIC)
The Matador Success and Inclusion Center (MSIC), scheduled to open in 2027, will be a dynamic new hub designed to foster student success, belonging and connection across the CSUN community.
The three-story center will bring together new and existing programs that support students academically, socially and personally, including:
- Identity-Based Resource Centers (IBRC)
- Ethnic Studies Center for Research, Activism and Community Empowerment (ES for RACE)
- Community and High Impact Practices (CHIP)
- Matador Achievement Center (MAC), which provides academic advising and support for student-athletes
- Athletics administration and coaching offices
More than a new building, MSIC will create opportunities for students to connect, find community, access resources and engage in experiences that enrich their education. By bringing programs and people together in one welcoming environment, the center will strengthen collaboration and help students build a deeper sense of connection to CSUN.
Your support can help bring this vision to life. Philanthropic investment in MSIC will enhance student spaces, strengthen programs and services, and create opportunities that will benefit Matadors for generations to come.
Make your mark on the future of CSUN. Support the Matador Success and Inclusion Center today.
