We are proud that the Michael D. Eisner College of Education remains one of the largest Colleges of Education in the CSU system, providing to our surrounding communities hundreds of outstanding new professionals in the fields of education, counseling, administration, and Deaf Studies. The Eisner College engages in transformative education and initiatives that put into practice our commitment to social justice, equity, access, and inclusion, and supporting the social-emotional well-being of university, school, and community members. I am grateful to our talented faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners, all instrumental in ensuring the excellence of our educational programs and community-serving centers. We have much to celebrate as we send forth our students to make positive contributions to our world!

Accelerating to Virtual Instruction and Social Distancing for Students and Employees

COVID-19 Information

Alternate learning modalities have now been extended through the entirety of the spring semester. Effective as a soon as possible but no later than the end of day Friday, March 20, staff who are not directly instructed to work on campus in person should not come to campus. CSUN will maintain Student Housing and CSUN Dining under these emergency circumstances so long as there is a need to do so, but Student Housing residents who can are encouraged to explore alternate living arrangements. Commencement exercises, hooding ceremonies, and department/credential receptions have been postponed until after the pandemic crisis subsides. Read the full message from President Harrison

CSUN selected as one of five CSUs in the 2019-2020 TeachingWorks CSU Campus Fellowship

TeachingWorks, University of Michigan

TeachingWorks, an organization at the University of Michigan, is focused on raising the quality of entry-level teaching by working with groups of teacher educators on five CSU campuses to support efforts to continue to develop practice-based, social-justice focused teacher preparation programs. Lead CSUN faculty member is Minsung Kwon, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Elementary Education. Core CSUN faculty members are Dr. Joyce Burstein (EED), Dr. David Kretschmer (EED), Dr. Greg Knotts (EED), Dr. Jenn Wolfe (SED), and Dr. Zhen Chai (SPED). Read more
