CSUN selected as one of five CSUs in the 2019-2020 TeachingWorks CSU Campus Fellowship

TeachingWorks, an organization at the University of Michigan, is focused on raising the quality of entry-level teaching by working with groups of teacher educators on five CSU campuses to support efforts to continue to develop practice-based, social-justice focused teacher preparation programs. Lead CSUN faculty member is Minsung Kwon, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Elementary Education. Core CSUN faculty members are Dr. Joyce Burstein (EED), Dr. David Kretschmer (EED), Dr. Greg Knotts (EED), Dr. Jenn Wolfe (SED), and Dr. Zhen Chai (SPED). Read more

UC/CSU California Collaborative for Neurodiversity and Learning

In June 2019, the state of California established the UC/CSU California Collaborative for Neurodiversity and Learning as a new initiative focused on using emerging brain research to inform better practices for California’s children with learning differences. The goal of the Collaborative is to bring together resources and leading experts in neuroscience and K-12 education to strengthen educational support and new teaching methods for children with diverse learning needs, including children with dyslexia and literacy issues.
