Child & Adolescent Development Symposium

Join us for CSUN's 2018 Child & Adolescent Development Symposium on Saturday, March 10 at the Flintridge Room in CSUN's University Student Union.

The topic for this special event is: "Helping children and their families cope with stressful situations in various settings.”

Sandie Sternberg (CCLS, CPE, ABF) and Joanne Ordono (CCLS, CPE — Child Life Specialists at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center) will focus on distraction and coping techniques for children in stressful situations.

A’isha Davison (MSW Supervising Children’s Social Worker, Department of Children & Family Services) will discuss helping adults in various settings (parents/caregivers/teachers/counselors) cope with stressful situations.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Identify positive use of language for communicating with children and their families in stressful situations.
  • To teach adults in various settings cope with stressful situations.
